Der Untertitel dieser Arbeit „Eine pädagogische Auseinandersetzung mit einer gesellschaftlichen Forderung“ zeigt die Ausrichtung des Themas der Fremdbetreuung auf die bestehende gesellschaftliche Debatte zwischen der Forderung nach Emanzipation durch einen frühen Berufswiedereinstieg der Frau und Kritikern, die dadurch das Kindeswohl gefährdet sehen. Es soll in der vorliegenden Arbeit vor allem die Kontroverse zwischen der zunehmenden Forderung eines frühen Berufswiedereinstiegs der Mutter und dem Wohl des Kindes aus pädagogischer Perspektive behandelt werden.
